Ya same.....

but i do think the idea of separating schools by cultures is a HORRIBLE IDEA!!!!!!!!!!!!

that means the the Mormons or latter day saints of which i am a part can have their own school funded by the State/ Federal government because we have a different culture.... if we tried that we would be shut down quicker then you could say HALALUYA!!!!!

Wow, that is messed up. An opportunity to learn Arabic is amazing, learning the culture is an chance to broaden one's understanding and begin to understand billions of people who speak the language. I really wish they had this school in my area, I would be fighting to attend.

You know i don't think it's so bad. From what I get out of it, it's not an "Arab" school. I mean it's not stricktly for Arabs. It's just teaching about the Middle east and everything. Something that might be a good idea to make a requirement in every school so that we, the next generation, don't grow up as ignorant of the middle east as our parents.

Honestly Kanani! Good point!

I was talking to a friend of mine, and we were wishing for at least lessons on current international relations, and more lessons on tolerance in schools. We have some big holes in our education when it comes to the middle east...
I mean gosh, I had never even heard of the Palestine/Israel conflict before this summer... actually I doubt I could have located a single country in the Middle East (other than Egypt, but I couldn't have guessed what languages they spoke there, I would probably say Egyptian... and that is it) before this summer.
